[Ignis appreciates that Ravus pulls him into a hug after he gets comfortable on the side. His mind is still buzzing from pleasure and he's returning the kisses slowly, eyes closed when he feels the lips travel over his jaw and cheek.
All of Ignis' defenses are gone now. He can feel the dread of the reality slowly trying to creep back in but Ravus' touch and presence keep all of it at bay. For now.
He opens his eyes to look over at him, eyes lingering on every line and the sharp cut of Ravus' face. Feeling that words are failing him yet again, his gaze drops and he shuffles close, burying his face below Ravus' jaw, gently resting forehead against his neck.]
[Ravus nuzzles Ignis' head until he finds a comfortable position for his cheek to rest against Ignis' hair. He lets his hand trail down Ignis' side, tracing soothing circles around the bruises he'd left on his hip a few minutes earlier.
They're both exhausted, physically and emotionally, and Ravus doesn't want to lose this narrow window where they could maybe fall asleep without a guarantee of nightmares.]
Sleep. [He shifts to press a kiss into Ignis' hair.] I don't want you to leave my side until you've gotten some rest.
[And honestly, Ravus is going to need strength to face the world outside of this room, too. He's not eager to get up and begin informing the others of Gladio's disappearance.]
['Sleep and get some rest' - words that usually leave Ignis' mouth, now used on him. And... he doesn't mind it at all. This closeness, the way Ravus is being gentle with him compared to his usual steely demeanor, the fingers circling slowly on his skin... it is more than easy to give in to the call of sleep.]
You too...
[Not very articulate request compared to how eloquent he usually is, but he's tired. Spent in every way possible. He presses a soft kiss on the exposed expanse of Ravus' neck, letting himself relax into the older man's hold-]
[With that reassurance, Ravus lets his head rest back on one of the rumpled pillows.]
You can stay until he returns, if you wish it...
[Ignis was always welcome here, but now, especially. Ravus has quickly gotten used to sleeping with another beside him, and he doesn't want to face waking cold and alone.]
[Right now, Ignis is not planning to leave. And he's not trying to think much about 'until he returns' sentence because that could imply way too many things at once. His hold on Ravus only tightens as a response to the offer.
'Yes, I want to'
Simple sentence conveyed, properly, through this small gesture. He too doesn't want to wake up to nothing right now, to the realization that Gladio isn't around.]
[Ravus only means to drowse while Ignis sleeps in his arms, but he ends up slumbering in spite of himself.
When he wakes, the sun is high in the sky and he can hear movement in other parts of the house. Ravus sighs. He can't hide away in his room forever. For one things, the cats will be scratching down the door for a meal soon.
He begins to extract his limbs from Ignis' so he can push himself up.]
I'm getting up now. [He murmurs near Ignis' ear.] You can sleep longer if you need.
[Ignis' head throbs when he's brought back from the bliss that is sleep. And he's instantly aware of million things that happened hours ago. One- Gladio is gone; two- his head hurts because he didn't sleep enough; three- this is not his bed; four- Ravus is speaking to him. Because he's in his and Gladio's bed. Naked. The only way he ever regrets what happened is if it ever comes between Ravus' and Gladio's relationship. That thought itself just adds more pressure to his headache.
He needs to get up. Coffee. Then to inform people that Gladio's missing. The offer to stay in bed is very tempting but he's fully aware he can't. Even this is already pushing the limits.
Ignis tilts his head to look at Ravus, drowsy a bit but awake.]
No, thank you. I... need to get up, [he says quietly. Ravus' face is so close and he's so tempted to-- Gods, his head is a mess and the man's closeness is not helping.]
[Ravus has less impulse control than Ignis, and he presses his lips to Ignis'. There is going to be little comfort for them once they leave this room, so he's taking all he can until then.]
You do not regret it, do you?
[Ravus cannot understand the long history Ignis and Gladio have together. Will his own connection with Ignis, so strong in the darkness of the early morning, survive in the light of day?]
[Ignis' eyes glint in a bit of a surprise but he very willingly returns the kiss, hand coming up to rest against Ravus' cheek. When Ravus moves away, he gives him an additional short, kiss.]
No, I don't regret it.
[His fingers push through silvery strands, placing them behind Ravus' ear as he offers him a small smile, although laced with a bit of sadness because, well, Gladio's not around.]
[That- wasn't a question Ignis expected. At all. And it instantly lights up Ignis' face with a fiery blush he can't control. Because yes, he could hear Gladio and Ravus- until Gladio got the room soundproofed. Then Ignis couldn't decide whether he liked it or no.
...he can't admit that!
Well. He can. He just slept with Ravus. But still- saying something like that aloud is embarrassing.
-there's no point in lying or hiding.]
I... did. Hear you. Neither of you is quiet and, well, the room wasn't soundproofed then. [His cheeks get even redder as he thinks about the second question-] F... From time to time. If- if you did it early, I would let you to your own devices because I... felt like I was eavesdropping. But sometimes [you fucks] you would do it in the middle of the night [4 fucking AM] and then... [and then there was no escaping the sounds and how hot they sounded and him wanting to melt into the pillows. And sometimes the showers couldn't help him so he felt additionally guilty for getting off on them.]
...so yes. There were moments where I was tempted to knock on the door. It usually ended up with me locking my own...
[Ravus is smirking like the cat that swallowed the canary.]
You don't need to look so bashful. To speak the truth, the thought of you listening in made it even better for me. We would have welcomed you in, if you had knocked.
[It's not like he can control the blush, Ravus. The question was a bit out of nowhere and of nature he doesn't always answer. He also admitted to everything so...
Ignis' gaze falls, but he nods in the end. Yes, Gladio will return to them. He would never leave them.]
[He could say more, paint a lewd picture of all the things he wants to do with Ignis and Gladio together in his bed, but he doesn't want to keep reminding Ignis of Gladio's absence.]
And until then, you needn't knock. I'll expect you here, or I'll come to you.
[Because Ravus trusts Ignis with many things, but taking care of himself is not one of them. The only way to insure Ignis is not suffering alone is to stay by his side until the cause for suffering has passed.]
[Ignis has to admit that Ravus is a quick learner- that yes, taking care of himself is usually the last thing Ignis does when the situation is dire.
His eyes soften as he takes in every word and their meaning and the air in his lungs is both warm and hurting and Ignis doesn't know what to do with himself. He sits up and shifts close to Ravus, letting his closeness comfort him in a way Ignis didn't expect.]
I will be here, I promise, [Ignis says with a small nod, lifting his eyes to meet Ravus'.] No knocking.
[There's no helping it. Ravus has no choice but to press Ignis back down into the bed and kiss him thoroughly. When Ravus is sure his unspoken point has been conveyed, he releases him and sits back up.]
...yes, right. We've tarried longer than we meant to. We should rise and see to our duties now.
[Good talk, Scientia. Ravus is not good at voicing his feelings, so hopefully he's given Ignis enough indications to help him understand how wanted he is.]
[Okay, if Ravus continues to keep pushing him down against pillows and kissing the life out of him, there's no way he'll be able to do anything. Thankfully, the kiss ends with being just that, a very telling, soul-warming kiss. He continues to lay down for a moment (to secretly catch his breath) but agrees with Ravus.]
Right. We... need to get to work.
[Extremely good, no-word talk. His brain is still doing the catching up game so if you give him a few hours that would be great.]

[Ravus props himself up on an elbow and lets himself study Ignis' face. So beautiful, but forlorn.]
You know, I always wondered...could you hear Gladiolus and I, when we fucked?
[Because, you know, one way to remove that sadness is to replace it with a blush. And Ravus has been dying to know.]
Did you ever listen in, and wish you were a part of it?
